Voluntary Action North Somerset

The Environmental Network of North Somerset and Weston Civic Society are holding a Green Festival on Saturday 30th August, 12 noon til 8 pm, at Weston Old Town Quarry on South Road.

At least 20 local Environmental groups will be there, along with celebrities Chris Sperring of Hawk & Owl Trust and BBC nature presenter Sanjida O’Connell.

Events include competitions, children’s activities, refreshments, pig roast and a Ceilidh in the evening.

The Primary Care Trust are holding a stakeholder event at the Winter Gardens on Monday June 30th between 9.30am and 4.30pm.  The event forms part of the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the NHS.

It’s Summer Fayre time!

Saturday 28th June at the Clevedon Community Centre and Sunhill Park.

Starting at 12.00 there will be all kinds of entertainment for all the family all afternoon.

Including a monster Bouncy slide and the Lions Roller Coaster, Face Painting, Cream Teas, Bacon Butties and much more.

All this for £1.00 admission (children under 14 free)

Luci Hortop, Marketing and Events Officer for Weston super Mare’s Sand Sculptors event, is looking for some help with this year’s sand sculpture event.

Volunteers are needed to help with building wooden casing, shovelling sand and assisting the sand sculptors. Volunteers will need to be generally fit and healthy. Some basic DIY skills would be useful too.

The Sand Sculpture event runs from Saturday 28 June – Friday 11 July, 10am – 5pm

Volunteers will be provided with lunch and free passes for the event when it opens to the public.

North Somerset Partnership’s Annual Event is being held at the Winter Gardens from 09:30 until 1 pm on the 22 April 2008.

The focus this year will be to launch the new Sustainable Community Strategy and to showcase examples of planned or existing delivery partnership activities that contribute to the shared priorities contained within the strategy. Display areas will feature:

* Delivering strong inclusive communities
* Ensuring safer communities
* Improving health and wellbeing
* Developing a prosperous economy and enterprising community
* Living within environmental limits
