Representing groups in North Somerset

Voluntary Action North Somerset has a key role in working with local groups, the local health service and North Somerset Council to ensure effective representation of voluntary and community groups.

Children Youth and Parenting

Currently we are working with Children Youth and Parenting groups, and with the Health and Wellbeing forum.

In-Step Programme for Leaders and Managers

In-Step is a new two-year programme of activities supported by CapacityBuilders,  designed to develop our support for leaders and managers in voluntary and community organisations in North Somerset.

Health & Wellbeing Forum

The purpose of the Health & Well Being Forum is to bring together voluntary and community groups and to enable the groups to have a ‘voice’ in the delivery of service. To this end we work with the North Somerset Primary Care Trust and North Somerset Health & Well Being Partnership where we have a voluntary sector representative.

Our role is

• To facilitate and support the development and involvement of the adult and social care voluntary and community sector in North Somerset.
• To provide information to the adult and social care voluntary and community sector on national, regional and local developments in social care policies and services.
• To facilitate consultation and information sharing with the adult and social care voluntary and community sector, on behalf of the statutory sector.
• To provide advice to adult and social care groups on how to become involved with strategic planning around current issues.
• To undertake elections of representatives of the adult and social care voluntary and community sector to the North Somerset Health and Well-Being Partnership and to support the elected representatives.
