Domestic Abuse Recovery Service
Domestic abuse counselling service offering 10 free counselling sessions to people affected by domestic abuse, including children and young people (Aged 11 to 18, 25 if SEND).

To provide emotional and psychological support through counselling, tailored to the specific needs of those who have experienced domestic abuse, via our specialist referral pathway.
To provide confidential service in various venues across North Somerset for one-to-one counselling for anyone who has experienced domestic abuse.

15 free counselling sessions for children and young people

Between April 2024 and March 2025:
Over 1,170 counselling hours delivered
168 professionals trained on the links between domestic abuse, disability and chronic conditions
1220 counselling sessions provided
Key programme developments include:
Expanded counselling access for children and young people
Pilot of a wraparound therapeutic pathway supporting women through group work, individual counselling and specialist courses
Development of a specialist referral pathway for disabled survivors through the Thalia Project
Client feedback highlights increased confidence, improved emotional wellbeing and a stronger sense of being heard and understood.
