Cara MacMahon, CEO
Cara was formerly Deputy Manager for Community Service Volunteers Media in the North West, Director of the Watershed Media Centre in Bristol, Subject Leader and Principal Lecturer in Arts Management at De Montfort University in Leicester and senior consultant with ABL Consulting London. Cara joins VANS from Knightstone Housing Association where she was Strategic Fund Manager.

Claire Payne, Children's Centres Volunteer Co-ordinator
Claire joined VANS in February 2014 after a career break to raise a family. Claire’s previous working experience has predominantly been in the financial services industry.
In 2008 Claire and her family moved to the village of Congresbury from South London. Claire volunteered briefly as a general member on the school PTA, then as a Pre-school committee member for a few years before starting up a Beaver Scout colony in Congresbury in 2012.
Donna Cleeve, Volunteer Centre Co-ordinator
Donna started with VANS in January 2009. She has vast experience working with volunteers, particularly volunteers with additional support needs – to enable them to overcome barriers preventing them from volunteering. She also supports groups to develop and promote positive volunteering opportunities and works with them on a range of recruitment and good practice issues.
Laura Argrave – Volunteer Co-ordinator Support Alliance
Laura joined VANS in May 2015 to lead on the Buddy and Volunteer Pathway Schemes, in partnership with Support Alliance. Laura previously worked in Bristol for the Addiction Recovery Agency (ARA), where she was a Development Manager, focussing on planning and delivering learning, social and volunteering projects for people in recovery from addictions. Laura’s previous career includes managing community out-reach services for people with homelessness issues, teaching English to refugees and working as a restaurant manager. Laura has also been a Volunteer for Sane-line mental health helpline.
