Hilary Neal

Chair of Trustees

Hilary started as Chair of Trustees in October 2026 and comes from a public sector policy career with knowledge and experience in the fields of environment and sustainability and in the socio-economics of the South West region. In retirement she spent six years as a Trustee of Quartet Community Foundation and has worked extensively with voluntary organisations and social enterprises, helping to grow partnerships, strong relationships, and the infrastructure needed to support them across the West of England area of which North Somerset is part. She chaired the Board of Curzon Cinema and Arts for many years and is currently a Trustee of the Futura Learning Partnership and Sustainable Clevedon. She has lived in Clevedon for 35 years and loves the nature, landscape and community of North Somerset. She is looking forward to working with the VANS team to continue and build on the excellent work of Delyth Lloyd-Evans who has done so much in strengthening VANS to become the respected organisation that it is today, serving the communities of North Somerset.
